SVHM Society has time and again proved its worth in serving the devotees visiting the Char Dham’s of Uttarakhand for pilgrimage by means of their well-equipped hospitals. A similar divine opportunity arose during the Nanda Devi Rajjat Yatra in which SVHM Society provided the health umbrella to the pilgrims during their journey. Nanda Devi Rajjat Yatra also known as the “Himalayan Mahakumbh,” is a sacred pilgrimage and cultural tradition of Uttarakhand held traditionally every twelve years The traditional journey begins at Nauti in Chamoli and eventually reaches the high Himalayan region associated with the sacred culmination of Nanda's journey at Homkund. SVHM Society team joined the Yatra at Wan village on 16th September 26 and remained with them till 21st September 26. During the entire pilgrimage, our team was with the devotees conducting free medical camps providing treatment to the devotees suffering from health issues. The medical team provided services not only at the medical camp locations but also throughout the pilgrimage route. The services included first aid, wound dressing, distribution of essential medicines as well as for providing medical assistance as on need. The entire route starting from an approximately 8,000 feet culminated at 19,000 feet During this period, a total of 780 pilgrims and travellers received medical examinations and treatment. Five patients requiring specialized or advanced medical care were referred to higher medical facilities for further treatment. Despite the difficult terrain, high altitudes, and challenging Himalayan conditions, the service team of Swami Vivekananda Charitable Hospital continued providing medical assistance and remained committed to serving pilgrims throughout the journey. This healthcare initiative was a remarkable example of compassion, humanity, and selfless dedication to the service of pilgrims.
